Risk/Reward Analysis

Compare your average winning and losing trade sizes:

  • Average Win: Mean profit on winners
  • Average Loss: Mean loss on losers
  • Risk/Reward Ratio: Calculated as Average Win / Average Loss

A ratio above 1:1 means your average winner is larger than your average loser. Combined with win rate, this determines overall profitability.

Best Practices

Sufficient Sample Size

Wait for at least 30 trades in a group before drawing conclusions. Small samples can be misleading.

Consistent Tracking

Ensure all trades are properly logged with accurate entry times and durations. Missing data skews reports.

Regular Review

Schedule weekly or monthly report reviews. Consistent analysis drives continuous improvement.

Act on Insights

Use report findings to adjust your trading:

Combine with Strategy Analytics

Cross-reference Reports data with individual strategy performance to understand whether patterns are market-wide or strategy-specific.
